Scrolling through our Instagram feeds, we noticed a trend with Saucony-sponsored athletes. Professional runners, like Molly Huddle and Jared Ward for example, are donning “Hero” T-shirts, the “o” stylized as the Venus symbol for women’s gender. These items are a part of Saucony’s collaboration with Prinkshop, a company that teams up with brands to release products that support social initiatives.
It’s all a part of the Women Running campaign, with 10 percent of proceeds going to the non-profit, non-partisan organization She Should Run, which encourages women to run for political office by providing them with resources to help get them there.
LAKOTA GAMBILL
It’s the first time Saucony and Prinkshop have joined forces, as well as Prinkshop’s first footwear collab. The quintessential Kinvara 11 is newly patterned with women’s gender symbols on the upper and midsole. Known for its light weight and soft feel, the Kinvara also delivers high rebound for short to long distance running. And, as I’ve personally found on my runs, encompasses your feet with plush, comfy cushioning.
Besides the Kinvara and gray short-sleeve tee ($25), the “Women Running” line also includes the retro-inspired Hero Jazz Original Vintage Sneaker ($80), Hero tote ($20), and hat ($25). The T-shirt and Kinvara are available in both women’s and men’s sizes.
To support She Should Run and don a Hero shirt of your own, you can find the collection at saucony.com.
