Since March 8th 1911, International Women’s Day (IWD) has been a global celebration of the achievements and victories of women.
Throughout the years, IWD has become a catalyst for action, raising awareness around the inequalities faced by women around the world. In recent years, IWD themes have included Women and HIV/AIDS, Ending Impunity for Violence Against
Women and Girls, Women in the Changing World of Work: Planet 50-50 by 2030, and Empower Rural Women.
This year IWD is focusing on challenging stereotypes and creating a gender-equal world.
